Health Check Up Before Beginning Running
Posted on March 27th, 2009 No commentsCome on… Join us in the 400 km Plus Challenge! This is especially for the Beginner Runner. Although…The challenge is open to anyone, we will be setting up a longer challenge later. Stay tuned.
The Challenge is 400km April 2009 to April 2010!
I find this challenge really good for the casual runners too! Why? Casual runners tend to run a couple times a week, just weekends or even just run during the nicer seasons. So this program would give the casual runner a goal to reach. The interesting thing is…The casual runner could run more than they usually run in a year. Hence achieving a better fitness level.
The Health Check Up Before Beginning Running
A Big Factor:
A doctor’s check up is for everybody starting this program, especially those of you who have been living a sedimentary life. We may all hate the check up, but it is an addition to increasing your health and fitness level.
Exericise may be one of the many factors that can contribute to good health, but if you are not aware of what condition your body is in…Then you will not know what will help or hurt you in a fitness program.
So…I Strongly recommend the check up!
These are some of the issues your doctor should be checking:
Weight
Blood Pressure
Urine
Cholesterol
Blood
Heart
Lungs
Internal exam
Physical exam
This just gives you an idea on some of the things that your doctor may check. Usually it only takes a half hour or hour of your time. Remember if you have any concerns - tell your doctor.
Don’t forget to tell him you are starting an exercise program and ask for his thoughts.
Ok you guys we are almost ready to start…sign up for now here!
